Fluorite
Fluroite is a beautifully transparent mineral occurring in a rainbow of brilliant colors. The coloring can be either a deep hue, a pastel version, or banded with a variety of colors.
This mineral if fantastic for grounding oneself and absorbing the continual flow of the waves of radiation and electromagnetic energy that bombards us continually from cell phones, iPods, computers and microwaves.
The translucent nature of this rare fluorite specimen makes it really special. Only a few pieces remain available for sale as the mine has played out. This specimen is from China.

Kyanite
Physical Description: aluminum silicate mineral
- Elongated long-bladed, twisted columnar or masses these fibrous crystals are transparent to translucent
- Color: Blue. Also green, white, grey, black. When inclusions of other minerals exist yellow and pink are possible.
- Moh’s Hardness Scale: 4.5-5 parallel to axis; 6.5-7 perpendicular to that axis
Formation: a metamorphic mineral that forms from high pressure alteration of clay-rich sedimentary rocks.
Location: Minas Gerais, Brazil, South America
History: First reported in 1789 by A.G. Werner. Name derives from Greek word “kuanos,” meaning deep blue.

MOLDAVITE
Physical Description: Tektite
- Glassy mixture of silicon dioxide, aluminum oxide & other metal oxides. With a finish often “pitted” or weathered.
- Museum quality has distinct Fern-like pattern and more translucent than regular grade. “Flower-bursts” are highly prized.
- Color: 79% bottle green from the Bohemia area. 89% olive green or brown from Monavia. Vivid green rarer.
- Translucent because it has lesser amounts of iron oxide
- Less than 1% of the pieces available are naturally tempered and when dropped on glass or metal “ring” like a silver coin. This trait known as “sonorous.”
- Mohn’s Hardness Scale: 6.5 to 7
Formation: Result as an interplanetary collision. Extraterrestrial material hit the earth with force estimated at six trillion megatons, as a product of impact earthly sediment transformed. Only mineral that has “fallen from the sky.”
Location: Czechoslovakia. Found in about a 6,000 Square kilometer area in Bohemia & Monavia in the Ries Crater. Minor finds in Waldviertel, Austria & Lusatia, Germany. Only 4 mines in full operation.
History: 14.8 Million years old. Tektite is Greek for “Tektos” meaning molten. Through out history regarded as spiritual talisman. Legendary Stone of The Holy Grail. Largest collection in the world is in Prague at the National Museum.
